The length of the ocean journey entirely depends on the port of departure and the final destination. On our services pages, we have captured a proforma schedule per shipping route indicating the number of days needed to ship your goods from A to B.

Unfortunately, sometimes ocean freight is delayed due to port congestion. When this happens it means that one of our container ships arriving at the port is unable to berth and has to wait its turn. If a trade lane is impacted by certain unforeseen situations, we will notify you. You can also check our port & route notifications page for regular updates.

Basically, the difference is the price. While a tariff quote is a fixed or locked rate for a certain period, a spot quote is one-time offer often used for goods that require immediate shipping. In this last case, prices can fluctuate based on current market rates.
