Job purpose:
To oversee and ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of all operational activities related to vessel handling, port operations and customer service, while ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Vessel Planning and Execution:
•Develop crane work plans and sequences to optimize productivity and meet contractual agreements (e.g., GMPH, BMPH).
•Manage and control the execution of the vessel operation plan, ensuring adherence to timelines and resolving any operational issues or disturbances.
•Prepare and execute detailed vessel discharge and load plans, considering factors such as vessel stability, safety regulations, cargo specifications, and terminal resources.
•Modify plans as required due to changes in schedules, cargo availability, or operational constraints.
• Certify the load plan for each shift daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Coordination and Communication:
•Act as the main point of contact between the execution team (e.g., stevedores, crane operators) and the planning team.
•Liaise effectively with shipping lines, clients, and vessel operators to obtain necessary information such as bay plans and import/export status.
•Communicate clear and concise work instructions and plans to all relevant stakeholders.
•Ensure timely and accurate paperwork and documentation are provided to vessels.
Operational Efficiency and Optimization:
•Maximize the efficient utilization of the Terminal Operating System (TOS) and other relevant software for planning and execution.
•Strive for optimal usage of quay cranes and other resources.
•Monitor vessel and yard operations to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
•Analyze data related to cargo capacity, vessel efficiency, and scheduling to enhance planning strategies.
•Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Safety and Compliance:
•Ensure all vessel planning activities comply with international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, classification society rules, and port state regulations.
•Prioritize vessel stability and safety in all discharge and load planning.
•Conduct risk analysis related to vessel operations.
•Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare regular performance reports and other documentation as required.
• Maintain organized records of vessel plans and related information.
•Monitor operating costs related to vessel operations.

Education requirements:
Graduate/ Masters level education, Good computer skills (shipping software modules, related shipping/ marine certification, MS Office - Excel)
Language requirements:
English – Fluent (required).
Background and experience:
•10 – 15 years’ experience withing feeder shipping company (with 5+ years in a leadership role in liner operations)
•Knowledge of port, harbor, customs and immigration activities and procedures, and necessary legal requirements
•Knowledge of Terminal operating systems, shipping operations, vessel services and port rotations.
