General Manager - Commercial

Department:Commercial|   Grade: H

Reporting to:Regional Managing Director- South Asia, Middle East And Africa

Job purpose:

The primary role of the General Manager - Commercial will be to drive sales performance (All India).

•Enhancing market presence and customer satisfaction across Sealead’s activities in India. 

•Leadership level position.


Main tasks and responsibilities:


Commercial/Pricing

•Product development and service innovation.

•Developing and implementing business plans and strategies.

•Monitoring and control of operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

•Drive agency performance within the SeaLead’s in India.

•Assist in feasibility study of new acquisitions.

•Efficiently manage projects and resources in a way that ensures this is achieved on schedule.

•Direct and coordinate the company’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, increase efficiency and deliver on agreed upon financial goals. 

•Determine goods and services to be sold, and assist in setting prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.

•Develop and implement product marketing strategies including advertising campaigns and sales promotions.


Sales Performance and Business Development 

•Guide/ lead and manage the sales team effectively.

•Well-versed with overall management and marketing of the lines products and service.

•Formulate and execute successful sales strategies and plans.

•Reporting line management responsibility of Sales and Business Development Manager within India.

•Responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the business specifically by developing regional sales & marketing.

•Plans that supports regional brand and sales initiatives for key segments.

•Build all channels to generate sales pipelines and long-term customer relationships to foster revenue generation and growth opportunities.

•Review sales activity reports, and other performance data, to measure productivity and goal achievement for use in executing required actions in process improvements.


Leadership

•Effectively manage people and external agencies.

Internal: Finance | HR & Admin | Operations | Commercial | Sales


Education requirements: Postgraduate from a premiere institute.

Language requirements: Excellent Command of Spoken & Written English.

Background and experience:

•Minimum 15+ years of commercial activities with relevant Container/ Shipping Agency functions, specializing in various trade lanes including US Trade.

•Good market knowledge.

•Knowledge of the trade’s statutory requirements

•Able to coordinate at all levels with principal and customers to drive the best result.

•Depth knowledge of the trade’s statutory requirements
